Why don’t i lose weight? lets try to crack this!
I have been working with mostly those patients who have tried most kind of diets and they still don’t seem to be getting any respite from the excess weight!
Each individual is different genetically and therefore metabolically, there is not one solution which fits all.
Its a path traveled together, ironing out the gaps each time faced with a challenge of inability to lose weight.
The most common cause could be one or more of the following:
-
Nutritional imbalances & unhealthy diet
Lack of crucial nutrients such as B & D vitamins and various minerals such as Zn, Cr, Iodine, Magnesium and so on…
processed foods, loaded with carbohydrates, and bad fats. Refined grains like white bread, maida, chips, as well as refined sugars in artificially sweetened drinks and desserts, increase inflammation in our bodies. eating too many processed foods will hinder your ability to lose weight
2. Food Intolerances
Gluten and Lactose intolerance if goes unidentified, along with other short-term food sensitivities developed due to unhealthy gut lead to bloating water retention and therefore weight gain.
3. Gut microbiome imbalances
Unhealthy Gut Flora associated with Pathogenic Bacterial, Fungal & Viral Overgrowth/ frank infections and low population of healthy Gut flora mostly associated with eating too many carbohydrates, grains and sugar associated with poor lifestyle choices lack sleep and excessive stress.
4. Inflammation and immune dysfunction
Its been proven scientifically that chronic diseases such as obesity are associated with chronic inflammation, so far we believed only acute diseases are associated with inflammation.
causes of chronic inflammation may be, Infections, Allergies, environmental toxins, poor quality diet etc.
5. Environmental toxins
Environmental toxins such as Heavy metals, plastics, pesticides, food colors, and preservatives all contribute heavily to overloading the detoxification pathways and therefore can lead to obesity.
6. Abnormal metabolism
Mitochondria are the energy processing units of our cells, excessive, toxic accumulations, stress, sugar, processed food all put together compromises the ability of mitochondria to metabolize and process food to produce energy.
7. Hormonal imbalances
Thyroid, Estrogen progesterone imbalance, Cortisol etc…
8. Stress
Chronic stress is responsible for persistent weight especially belly fat. Meditation, Yoga, Calming activities, will certainly aid in weight loss efforts.
9. Lack of sleep
Setting your body clock is essential for balanced hormones, cortisol and in turn, other hormones follow a circadian rhythm and therefore will require a regular sleep pattern.
10. Lack of exercise
Stagnancy and longer hours of sitting should be avoided completely to ensure fueling your metabolism.
